Summary of the financial and economic feasibility study of the project of producing broiler chickens in Kuwait

introduction:
Livestock is one of the most important sources of food for humans. Man has sought to raise poultry and sheep as well as cows. Poultry farming has focused on the provision of meat and eggs, while sheep and cows are raised to provide meat and milk. The sea is a rich source of food for fish. In addition to fishing, many pioneers have taken advantage of ponds and marshes to raise fish.
As a result of the high demand for livestock and fish, farmers have sought scientific and technical methods that help to improve production and reduce costs. Farmers in Kuwait used production techniques in poultry farms and modern cattle as well as fish farming. Sheep breeding techniques were limited to the design of open sheds.

The poultry industry is considered one of the most important and successful agricultural industries. The poultry industry has started with traditional projects, and modern techniques have been introduced in nutrition and stripes, while relying on the ground system in education. The cages were then introduced into many projects, especially large ones. Poultry farms can also be divided into meat and eggs , and can also be divided into integrated projects and limited projects. In the integrated projects, there are the yards, the feed mills, the slaughterhouse, the packing and cooling center.

The poultry sector has undergone natural development stages similar to the stages experienced by the poultry industry in many countries of the world, where increased demand during the sixties accompanied by the comprehensive renaissance of Kuwait and would have developed consumer taste and preference for poultry products.

In 1970, the first agricultural census was carried out in Kuwait, in which the number of poultry was estimated at about 2.2 million chickens. During this period, specialized poultry companies were established in cooperation with the state. These companies followed the integrated production method. 43458 tons while the volume of consumption 94473 tons could be covered from imports from abroad and therefore we find that the self-sufficiency rate of white meat reached 46% of the volume of demand. Besides these large companies there were still some small farms that raise poultry in an open manner, Chicken broilers.

The poultry sector today is the most active sectors of livestock in Kuwait, where poultry production represents about 40% of the total value of agricultural production in Kuwait.

The field of poultry in recent years has witnessed a remarkable development in the form of several large poultry companies producing table eggs and poultry meat using the latest scientific methods in the poultry industry.

Research problem:

It is known that one measure of the standard of living of any nation is the extent to which its members obtain the highest possible amount of protein, especially animal, because the protein substances next to other substances and nutrients have a significant role in building the human body and maintain its health and safety, In the world’s population, food needs, especially animal protein, had to be secured, so the world’s population increased the amount of animal production, with the aim of obtaining easily digestible, good quality and cheap animal protein through meat and egg products.

Poultry occupies an important position as a source for the production of meat and eggs, which are the most valuable nutrients in human food. The chicken occupies the leading position among all poultry in its ability to convert its food protein to high nutritional value. It can also be grown in any number from individual numbers to Up to several thousand depending on the possibility of jam so that it is now called the poultry industry, which is like any industry may be dealt with during the stages of service manually or full automatic.

Poultry production has evolved in recent years and has become dependent on science and technology to obtain the largest economic benefits in the least time and at the lowest possible cost.

Objectives:
The main objective of the study is to know the economic and financial feasibility of the chicken meat production project with an annual capacity of 6000 tons in the State of Kuwait. The objective of the study is also to present and analyze the aspects and dimensions of the project economically from the technical, marketing, administrative, financial and environmental aspects in order to verify that the project is based on sound economic foundations.

  •  The study should be comprehensive, technical, marketing, administrative and financial.
  •  The study should rely on documented data and information.
  • The study should consider the characteristics of time and place.
  • The study should determine the feasibility of the project.
  • The study should assist in drawing up the project implementation plan.

Economic importance of poultry breeding in Kuwait:

The large companies and the agricultural holdings (poultry farms) provide self-sufficiency rate of about 33% of white meat and the percentage of production of table eggs, equivalent to more than 100%. As a result of the increasing demand of citizens for national products, poultry breeding and egg production is increasing, In the State of Kuwait, most of the international meat production strains (Ross-Hepard-Hapeteco) are cultured. For the white breeds, Hypsex is used because of its high productivity and its suitability for breeding conditions in Kuwait.
The importance of the project and its objectives:

The Kuwaiti economy is suffering from a large food gap that is constantly growing and the coverage of a large proportion of food depends on imports from abroad, which drains large amounts of the country’s financial resources. The average gap between the expected production and the expected demand is about 81.653 tons /year.

The poultry industry in Kuwait is considered one of the most important industries that contribute to the provision of animal protein. It is characterized by several characteristics, the most important of which is the speed of capital turnover, besides the need for a large agricultural patch, as well as the relatively high efficiency of food conversion compared to other types of animals
